Daniel Rutherford (R), the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Nelson County has joined the ever-growing and impressive list of Commonwealth’s Attorneys, Sheriffs and other professionals who know what it takes to do an effective job as Commonwealth’s Attorney and endorsed Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Bethany Harrison for the Republican nomination June 13.

Mr. Rutherford is the 9th Commonwealth’s Attorney and the 3rd Commonwealth’s Attorney in the local judicial circuit to endorse Bethany Harrison. Within the 24th Judicial Circuit, Mike Doucette (City of Lynchburg) and Paul McAndrews (Campbell County) have also endorsed Bethany Harrison. Samuel Johnston, the former Chief Judge of the 24th Judicial Circuit has also endorsed Bethany’s campaign.

No Commonwealth’s Attorney has endorsed her opponent.

In setting forth why Bethany Harrison is the clear choice for Lynchburg Republicans, Mr. Rutherford writes:

I enthusiastically endorse Bethany Harrison for the Republican Nomination for Commonwealth’s Attorney in the City of Lynchburg.  I know Bethany and I know she has all the qualities Lynchburg Republicans could want in their nominee for Commonwealth’s Attorney. Bethany is an experienced and highly respected trial attorney more than capable of prosecuting violent criminals and taking them off the streets.  Bethany is a steadfast conservative Republican who shares our values.  As Commonwealth’s Attorney of Nelson County I know what it takes to be effective in this job.  I say without hesitation that Bethany Harrison has what it takes.  She is clearly Lynchburg’s best choice to be your next Commonwealth’s Attorney and I encourage you to vote for her.

Daniel L. Rutherford (R) Nelson County Commonwealth’s Attorney
