Former Governor and United States Senator George Allen recently announced his support for Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Bethany Harrison in her campaign to become the next Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Lynchburg. Gov. Allen was in Lynchburg on October 3rd speaking at an event celebrating local manufacturers. It was there he had an opportunity to speak with Bethany and discuss her vision for the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. After meeting with Bethany, Gov. Allen released the following statement,
I’m impressed by Bethany Harrison’s steady demeanor, her experience as a leader and a prosecutor to take on the important role of Commonwealth’s Attorney. She has a proven record of fighting violent crime in the City of Lynchburg, having successfully prosecuted murderers, child abusers, robbers, and drug dealers. The citizens of Lynchburg deserve a Commonwealth’s Attorney who will fight hard every day to keep them safe and assist victims of crime. I’m confident that Bethany Harrison will work honorably and effectively to keep you safe and uphold the rule of law.
